Enriched with almond oil, so extra kind to the skin! Le Chatelard 1802 Savon de Marseille Soaps All soaps are handmade in the workshops of Le Chatelard 1802 in St Auban sur Ouvèze, Provence (France). The soaps are subtly scented with flowers, fruits and other natural ingredients, giving them a rich lather that nourishes, hydrates and smells delicious. This 100% natural soap is traditionally made by mixing Mediterranean water with olive oil, with or without other vegetable oils, sodium carbonate and sodium hydroxide.
This mixture is heated in a large cauldron for several days, with constant stirring. This gives it all the time to 'mature', after which it is poured into molds to harden further. When the soap is still soft, it is already cut into the right shape and stamped. The whole process can take up to a month.
